I didn't like it, neither the shampoo nor the conditioner. They both smelled terrific, but only in the bottles (also, like another reviewer mentioned, the scent was more like a banana candy than an actual banana, but still delicious.). The scent did not linger in my hair. Not sure if this is relevant, but I have very long, fine, thin hair - this did not agree with my hair type. It left my hair looking very dull, and full of tangles. I also had to use a LOT of product to get it to work all the way through my hair. I used each bottle (shampoo & conditioner) 1 time only, and probably used at least an ounce of each in just one shower. It did not lather very well, didn't feel like it was cleaning my hair.
I wouldn't buy again, and cannot recommend it to a friend...but a lot of people seem to love it, so you wont know until you try it for yourself. :-)

This shampoo states it's best for all skin types, not all hair types which they should make it more specific on hair and not skin. Also shampoos aren't supposed to lather that much. In the average persons head "the more the lather the more it's cleaning" is completely untrue. The lather parts in shampoos are just bubble creating agents and trapped air. That's why professional brands don't lather up as much as people would like because they don't realize this and they think it's not making their hair clean. Now from your review saying you have fine, thin hair, this product isn't such a good choice for you. This is more for someone with medium to coarse hair. And if you really do just want a lather then shampoo your hair using only a quarter sized amount, rinse, and then go back a 2nd time with another quarter sized amount.

I absolutely love this product. I have long, very fine hair and a lot of it. This shampoo does not weigh my hair down, but gives it body and leaves it looking full, shiny and healthy. It also smells really yummy! I use it with the banana conditioner which is the only conditioner that leaves my hair virtually tangle free and easy to comb through.

This shampoo is wonderful - it smells amazing, and it's just fun. I really have enjoyed it so much. My hair looks great too, and I've had no problems. Definitely recommend, and it's great when you can get it on sale.

Love the banana shampoo and conditioner! My hair is so sensitive to certain shampoos but these products leave my hair feeling amazing! It went from being dull to coming alive after just a few shampoos!! Love love love

Very Disappointed

First of, this is not one of those cheap drugstore shampoos. It does smell good and leathers alright. That's about it. The only claim that it lives up to is the shine. My hair does look shiney. (Mind you, it's only the look)
I am almost done with my bottle and I feel I can give a fair review now. I find my hair MORE damaged than EVER (so much so that even my hair stylist noticed). Limp, frizzy, coarse, and full of tangles.
I will never repurchase.

My hair is noticeably softer

Firstly, this shampoo smells not quite like real bananas, but kind of like the bananas from Runts candy. It has a very yummy scent. Once my hair dries, I can no longer smell it, but that isn't a big deal to me. I have noticed that my hair is softer since I began using this shampoo and conditioner, and I have thick, decently oily hair. This shampoo doesn't make it too dry, and it isn't oily by the end of the day. It is a bit expensive, at eight dollars for eight-and-a-half ounces, but if you can get it on sale, it's awesome. Plus, I don't mind paying a little extra to a company like TBS, where they shun animal testing and work toward eliminating their impact on the environment.

A Banan-ical Paradise!

This shampoo transports you to a banana botanical paradise! It doesn't smell like that "fake" banana smell. It's more like an Ice Cream Banana-land - REAL banana scent!! LOVE this stuff!!! Good at cleansing hair while moisturizing too! LOVE IT!

I use this with my kids. My preteen has oily hair but a dry scalp and my 6 yrs old has dry hair. They both love the smell of this shampoo. It makes both have gorgeous shiny hair, especially when paired with the Banana conditioner. Love this product!!

Very disappointing!

I generally love TBS products, but the banana shampoo and conditioner was horrific on my hair! I have super long, thick, wavy blonde hair... after 2 weeks of use (I don't have to wash my hair every day... or even every other day, for that matter... thank goodness!), my hair was extremely dry, tangled (I very rarely get tangles normally), and broken. :( I honestly can't believe how quickly it destroyed my hair! I'm going to have to do some serious conditioning.
The banana smell was ok, but very faint. There wasn't much lather, but I figured as much since it is a more natural product. Oh, and I don't know if it was because I have a lot of hair, but it took a TON of shampoo to get enough to work through my hair.

I have to respectfully disagree with the other rave reviews here. The shampoo smell is so faint that I can hardly smell it in my hair. Not that I'd even want to because it smelled like rotting bananas to me. As for leaving hair soft like many have said, it left mine tangled and (within half a day) feeling greasy. Maybe it is for those with super dry hair (mine is just normal). I also echo another's comment that the lather is on the thin side (like the Rain Forest line). I've been using TBS for decades and really want to like this since they discontinued my Olive shampoo (why oh why?!) but frankly, I just can't.

This shampoo feels so good in your hair...very smooth. It is also very conditioning, but doesn't leave any kind of residue, it rinses thoroughly. I love using this in combination with the conditioner. It definitely leaves hair feeling soft and weightless. And, oh the smell...yum! Leaves a subtle scent of fresh bananas in your hair. Not overpowering, just enough, though, that you catch a whiff occasionally and it smells amazing. Such a treat!

Smells nice. Sweet but not too sweet or strong. Goes well with the conditioner. Took about a week for my hair to adjust to the light lather, so I went through a greasy period. Everything is great now. I have thick, straight hair that can get greasy in the front at the root and dry towards the bottom. This works fine with my hair. Makes it feel and look clean and soft.

If you love bananas, you have dry distressed, or hair that just needs some love you should DEFINITELY try this! I've been using this shampoo/conditioner for a week now, and I'm in love! I'm not sure it's possible, but I feel that it makes my waves more bouncy, and my hair is so much brighter. This product smells amazing, but not overpowering. After the first use of this my hair is clean, shiny, bouncy. I will however say that for 8 dollars, I pictured the bottle being a littler bigger. But the product it's self is great!

Love this product. Makes my hair so manageable and so soft. I am 63-years-old with some gray, no color, and I love what Body Shop's banana shampoo does for my long locks. I'm sure it will do just as well whenever I find the time to get it cut short too. I won't use anything else, so I try to stay stocked up on it and the Banana Conditioner.

I have naturally fine curly hair and it's hard to find a shampoo that doesn't over condition and make it flat or under condition and leave it dry and frizzy. I love using the banana shampoo and conditioner. A must have for me!
