I love this product. It does a great job of sloughing off the dead skin on my lips. Also it has a great slight mint scent. My lipstick/lipstain stays on longer after I use the Lip Scuff first.

Does what it's supposed to

This product works really good and also smells amazing. It left my lips super soft and smooth. However, I feel that for the price, I could easily make a lip scrub for much cheaper that works just as good. So I most likely will not be purchasing this again, but it was still nice to try out.

surprising... in a good way

After wanting this lip scuff forever, I finally purchased it... I was a little leery because of the poor reviews. I absolutely love it... a lot of times, when I put lip stains or lipsticks on, it looks unflattering on my lips because they're dry... this completely takes care of that. I put this on right before applying lip products if my lips are feeling dry or chapped. I put a generous amount on, rub my lips together and get the grit into the problem areas, wipe it off with a tissue, and my lips look and feel baby soft. After these steps I apply the lip color. Just an incredible product... it's unfortunate I waited so long to try it. Lip color can't even compare when I don't use this regularly. I also love the slightly salty mint scent of this product.

Love Your Lips

This is a great product!! I used it after returning from camping and my dry lips were restored to softness! This product is not like sandpaper, it is delicate with just the right about of "scuff."

Not What I Expect From The Body Shop

I had high hopes for this product after reading the reviews and considering my great luck with other products from The Body Shop, but I was highly disappointed. There is not enough "scrub" action in the product to get rid of all the dry, flaky winter skin on my lips, and I end up having to really scrub to remove the skin; the tissue that's recommended doesn't come close to cutting it.. There also is not a lot of product, and I have used up a ridiculous amount in less than a week trying to get it to work for me. While I do appreciate the soothing peppermint and the moisture it offers, it's basically a ridiculously expensive lip balm to me, and I may as well go back to using my old tried and true method of smoothing my lips: letting a high quality lip balm (that costs 1/4 the price of this) sit on my lips for awhile and then removing it with a warm, wet washcloth or old, soft toothbrush.

This improved the everyday health of my lips!

I've had a crazy obsession with all sorts of lip products for a long, long time. This is the first one I've found that has made a true difference. I had never actually seen a lip exfoliator before I found this product. The way I get the most out of it is to apply the product straight to my lips and then thoroughly rub the exfoliating particles into my lips with my finger. That way, I feel like I get more results with less product.

Lip Scuff is smooth

I had a reward to use, and since my lips are flaky nightmares in the fall and winter I took a chance. Great product! Smells nice and my lips are a wonder now. It seemed pricy at first but it really lasts!

Great Exfoliant

It never occurred to me to exfoliate my lips until I was in the store one day and the salesperson recommended I try it. It's made a big difference in how my lipstick goes on and stays on. Highly recommend.

Excellent buffer

I found this product to work quite well on my lips. I live in a very dry area and use this scuff at night. When I wake up my lips are always smooth. I would recommend this product with the shine. The only downside is that there is not much product in the tube--i.e. I went through the tube too quickly I felt for the price I paid.

Over the years the product formula has changed, but it still works better than anything else I've tried. I have dry skin and always use Body Shop Lip Care immediately after using the Lip Scuff. My only complaint is that at the end there is still quite a bit of product left in the tube, which is a bit of a waste.

take your lips to the next level

I had never heard of a lip "scuff" before trying this out at the recommendation of a friend and co-worker. I have used many lip "balms" over the years as I live up North where outdoor weather takes a toll on skin - especially lips. The lip scuff is a product I highly recommend for keeping your lips kissable and in tip top shape! If you've never tried a lip scuff - you'll be surprised at how big a difference it makes.

Oasis for my lips

I live in Las Vegas and the hot, dry, windy weather left my lips continuously tight and peely. Lip scuff is THE ONLY lip treatment that moistureizes and softens my lips. I even feel as if they plump when I put it on. When my children's lips get dry, they reach for the lip scuff as well. And it doesn't leave a waxy or oily feel on my lips, only a refreshing drink of life-giving moisture.

Not as good as it used to be

I am a long time user of this product. While it is definately better than going without or using your facial scrub on your lips, the product has been changed. It previously was a soft pink color and a thicker consistancy with no flavor. It seemed to contain more moisturizer in the past. If you apply this product following the directions, several times, each use it works fine. It is now a green color and has a mint flavor. Never been a big fan of flavored products on my lips and I wear enough fragrances that I don't need to add another. The cost seems a little high, unless you find it on sale, but a little goes a long way. It lasts a long time.
All in all I would recommend this as it is still the best product I have found. It's just not as good as it used to be.

I purchased this because I love The Body Shop products, but unfortunately, this is not what I expected. If your lips are already smooth and you don't need a scrub/scuff but just want to soften your lips, this would work for you. But obviously, if you're purchasing a scrub/scuff product you're lips aren't perfect and you're looking for something to smooth them. I've gotten better results from just mixing olive oil and sugar right at home. Granted, they don't market this as a scrub, but even as a basic scuff it's doesn't work. I had second doubts at the store because the consistency didn't feel rough enough to do anything. Anyways, they do take returns so I'll be returning this to the store.

Love Love Love This Product!!

I purchased The Body Shop Lip Scuff a couple of weeks ago and I can clearly see a difference in the appearance of my lips. I use it about every other day and my lips are so much smoother now that I am using this product. It is helps me out a great deal with chapped lips and moisturizes the lip area very well. This product does contain some small scrubbing particles. So if you are using it on the go it's good to have a piece of tissue paper on hand to wipe the product from your lips when you're done using it. The lip scuff has a very pleasant mint flavor to it and I like the scent. I use the product before cleansing and I am happy I found it. I will definitely purchase this again in the future.

I used this around 8 this morning and again in the afternoon, and this evening I looked in the mirror and noticed how lovely, even, and smooth my lips looked (without any products on them)! They also feel nice and moisturized! It must be from the lip scuff because they haven't looked this perfect in a while! It's minty smelling, which is nice, and it's definitely exfoliating, but not harsh at all. Love it!

An ok lip scrub

Definitely not what I thought it would be. I just discovered the body shop on Black Friday this year, and I bought this to try. I thought it would be much more 'scuffy'. It still works, it makes my lips feel really smooth. But after reading the reviews, I think I would definitely like the old lip scuff much better.
